The Turriff Mountaineering & Hillwalking Club (the Club) processes personal data in compliance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA).

The Club is a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation and is therefore exempt from notification under the DPA, providing its members consent to any disclosure to third parties.

The Club is required to disclose members’ contact details to the Mountaineering Council of Scotland (MCofS) in order to provide affiliated membership and third-party liability insurance to its’ members.

Consent to disclosure of contact details to the MCofS is a mandatory condition of Turriff Mountaineering & Hillwalking Club membership, to ensure that each and every Club member is an affiliated member of the MCofS and has third-party liability insurance cover.

Provision and administration of hillwalking-related activities e.g. meets and events
Publication of Trip Reports on Club website (including photographs)

Third-party disclosure: Mountaineering Council of Scotland (MCofS)
Website Trip Reports: Following a Club meet, a report including photographs will on occasion be posted on the Turriff Mountaineering & Hillwalking Club website in order to further promote the Club.If any Club member wishes to be excluded from Club Trip Reports, please contact the Club Secretary to advise.

When someone visits our website we collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We collect this information in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
