New Website

Congratulations!
If you are reading this, you have successfully made it to the new Club website.

So why a new website?

I have  re-designed the website into a more up-to-date “Blog format” using software called WordPress.
WordPress is content management software – allows non-programmers to design and maintain web sites with ease.

Gregor has kindly offered to assist myself henceforth with ongoing maintenance of the site.

Edit: Gregor now has access to the site. Will hopefully see something from Gregor soon. Go Gregor

Corran Bunkhouse, Corran (3 – 6 September 2011)

Twelve club members attended a long-weekend meet to the excellent four-star Corran Bunkhouse – Andy, Bob, Elsie, Deirdre, Dave, Cliff, Catriona, Jim, Malcolm, Kasia, Gregor and Stuart.

Thanks to Kasia for organising the meet – the twin rooms and steam room were excellent .

On Friday, the weather was mixed.
Andy ascended Creag Dhubh above Roybridge.
Stuart ascended Stob Coire Raineach and Stob Dubh of Buachaille Etive Beag.
Malcolm, Elsie and Deirdre ascended Chno Dearg and Stob Coire Sgriodain.
Gregor, Kasia, Cliff and Catriona ascended Stob Ban in the Grey Corries.

On Saturday, the weather was awful.
Andy chartered a boat to the Isle of Carna and ascended Cruachan Charna.
Stuart ascended Sgorr Dhonuill and Sgorr Dhearg of Beinn a’Bheithir.
Dave and Deirdre traversed Mam na Gualainn – from Kinlochleven to Callert.
Cliff and Catriona ascended so far up Beinn a’Bheithir before turning back due to bad weather.
Bob, Elsie, Malcolm, Kasia and Gregor retreated from a low-level walk to Blackwater Reservoir due to an uncrossable burn (in spate).
Jim walked the North Face of Fort William High Street .

The weather was so bad on Saturday that Bob resorted to singing Travis songs :

On Sunday, the weather was much better.
Andy ascended Meall Mor and Sgorr a’Choise.
Bob, Deirdre, Elsie, Gregor, Kasia, Malcolm and Stuart ascended Carn Mor Dearg then Ben Nevis via the CMD arete.
Dave ascended Glas Bheinn.
Cliff and Catriona ascended the Pap of Glencoe.
Jim ascended Carn na Nathrach.

On Monday, the weather was again poor.
Deirdre & Malcolm ascended Stob Ban in the Grey Corries.
Jim ascended Creag Dhubh above Roybridge.

Well done to Malcolm and Elsie who have now collected in excess of 200 Munros.
