The Turriff Mountaineering & Hillwalking Club (the Club) processes personal data in compliance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA).
The Club is a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation and is therefore exempt from notification under the DPA, providing its members consent to any disclosure to third parties.
The Club is required to disclose members’ contact details to the Mountaineering Council of Scotland (MCofS) in order to provide affiliated membership and third-party liability insurance to its’ members.
Consent to disclosure of contact details to the MCofS is a mandatory condition of Turriff Mountaineering & Hillwalking Club membership, to ensure that each and every Club member is an affiliated member of the MCofS and has third-party liability insurance cover.
