Tyndrum Weekend November 2013 (By the Way Hostel)

A weekend attended by Deirdre, Elsie, Kasia, Bob & Malcolm. The view of Schiehallion before climbing Corbett Meall Tairneachan on Friday.

Since the weather on Saturday was quite bad alternatives were carried out:- Deirdre, Elsie & Kasia walked a section of the west highland way from Loch Tulla back to Tyndrum, Bob, Malcolm & Gregor climbed Graham Meall Odhar. On Sunday the weather was still bad so a trip to the east found Graham Blath Bhalg between Pitlochry and Glen Shee.

Stok Kangri ascent (fundraising for Tayside MRT)

On 10th August 2013, I am heading to Ladakh, India to ascend Stok Kangri. Stok Kangri is 6,193m (20,182ft) high.

Following events on the hill one month ago, I have decided to use this trip as an opportunity to fund-raise on behalf of Tayside Mountain Rescue Team. Should anyone wish to make a donation, it would be much appreciated.

April weekend 2013 – Glen Etive

A very successful weekend attended by Deirdre, Elsie, Kasia, Bob & Malcolm. The weather was very good, sunny with great visibility even though we had some snow on the ground. The stay at the Inbhirfhaolain hut owned by Dundee MC was very pleasant and cosy thanks to Deirdre’s hard work in keeping log burner going. Thanks to Dave and Bob for organising the weekend.

Taking stock at the end of an enjoyable day in the hills.

Bob taking the team through ice-axe self arrest & crampon training.
